As the pandemic continues to overflow, some experts from different countries made different vaccines to fight against COVID-19. A vaccine is a dead, or weakened version, or part of the germ that causes the disease in question. After some several clinical trials for COVID-19 vaccines, WHO approved some of the vaccines and said that the vaccines are ready to be immunize by people.
Childhood and teen vaccines or immunizations can seem overwhelming not only by our parents, but also to ourselves. Vaccinations not only protect us from deadly diseases, such as polio, dengue, and other diseases, but they also keep other individual safe by eliminating or greatly decreasing dangerous diseases that used to spread from one person to another, just like COVID-19. When we are exposed to a disease in vaccine form, our immune system, which is the body's germ-fighting machine, is able to build up antibodies that protect them from contracting the disease if and when they are exposed to the actual disease. Over the years and even in the present, vaccines have generated some controversy over the safety of people, but there are no convincing evidence of harm has been found. And although teens and children can have a reaction to any vaccine, the important thing to know is that the benefits of vaccinations far outweigh the possible side effects. Like many vaccines, COVID-19 vaccines can cause mild side effects, like a sore arm, body aches, headache, a fever, or tiredness, swelling in the injected part for a day or two. Experts says that this side effects are not a cause for concern for most of us, since these are signs that the immune system is responding to the vaccine and building immunity to the virus. Sometimes, a vaccinated person may also get infected with the virus or even get mild symptoms. This is called a "breakthrough infection." But the vaccine is very good at preventing serious illness, hospitalization, and death due to COVID-19. People who got infected by the COVID-19 virus should get vaccinated too, since there are no known risks to getting the vaccine after being infected with coronavirus. Moreover, like many other vaccines, COVID-19 vaccine effectiveness can decrease over time. A booster dose helps to “boost” how well the vaccines work and maximize protection. It is recommended that to get a booster shot 5 months after their initial vaccine doses.
Putting all in sum, everyone who is eligible should get the COVID-19 vaccine shot as soon as possible, especially to teens and children since they are the most vulnerable ones. Getting vaccinated is really beneficial not only to ourselves, but to all people who are exposed outside amidst the pandemic. It doesn’t matter that these newly created vaccines will not fully protect the body against the virus, what matters is the vaccines and getting immunized adds protection and helps our immune system to be stronger to fight against the said virus.
